In 2008, when Tony Henk first suggested a broadcast of the 9 Lessons & Carols Service could be sent, via the internet, live from the Church of Our Holy Redeemer in Stornoway and could then be aired on Angel Radio I was delighted. In 2009 we again were pleased to air the service live.

In 1999 Angel Radio had a live link with the ABC Network, which saw our little radio station broadcast coast to coast across Australia each week for 8 weeks. We have now also had several live links with the USA.

Back to Stornoway, Tony Henk and his team in Stornoway did all the difficult technical work while I just sat by the link in Havant waiting for the 30 minute countdown to begin . . .
 . . and I waited, and waited until panic started setting in with just 15 minutes to go . . . . and my appleMac decided it wouldn't accept the stream. So I grabbed a laptop and rushed into the studio, connected it up with just a few seconds to spare . . . . and hey presto the link was working and by the wonders of modern technology the angelic voices of a choir in Stornaway were enjoyed by thousands of listeners to Angel Radio.

The Church of Our Holy Redeemer in Stornoway was originally a wooden hut, which was replaced in the 1990s. The new church burn't down and another replaced it. It was from this beautiful building that the concert was broadcast.
